THE 6 SIGNS OF STRESS & ANXIETY IN TEENAGERS
How to Recognize the Signs of Depression in Teenagers?
“Your teenager is changing… and you feel that something is not right.”
Stress and anxiety in teenagers rarely show through words.
They often appear through behaviour changes, sleep issues, avoidance, emotional withdrawal, irritability, or a deep sadness that seems to settle in without explanation.
You can see their potential.
They can’t see it anymore.
- Panic attacks or school phobia: school, exams, social situations.
- Isolation: going out less, fewer friendships, withdrawing to their bedroom.
- Stress & mental overload: exhausted before even starting, unable to switch off at night.
- Irritability & anger: disproportionate reactions, constantly defensive, small remarks turning into conflict.
- Low self-esteem: “I’m useless”, “I’ll never make it.”
- Fatigue & sleep difficulties: exhausted in the morning, unable to settle or fall asleep at night.
When Should You Take Action for a Stressed, Anxious or Depressed Teenager?
If you are searching for ways to help your stressed teenager and nothing seems to work, it is often because the stress goes deeper than what is visible on the surface.
It is not a lack of motivation from them, and it is not a failure on your part.
- The situation has been lasting for several weeks
- It keeps getting worse despite your efforts
- It is affecting daily life, school, sleep, confidence, or relationships
And most importantly… when you feel that you can no longer help them alone.
The Benefits of Teen Support Sessions

How I Help Teenagers in Emotional Distress
Helping Teenagers Regain Confidence, Emotional Balance & Inner Calm
I support teenagers experiencing stress, anxiety, emotional distress, school phobia, panic attacks, depression, or emotional overwhelm.
My approach combines neuroscience, coaching, emotional work, and intuitive tools adapted to each teenager’s unique personality and needs.
Whether they are stressed, anxious, emotionally withdrawn, struggling with depression, or feeling different, I help them better understand themselves, regain emotional balance, and transform their differences into strengths.
I am neurodivergent myself and the mother of two neurodivergent children. My own children went through depression, rejection, school refusal, and emotional shutdown. I deeply understand the feeling of helplessness when your own child no longer talks to you.
My approach works even when the words do not come easily.

Social Anxiety & Isolation
Hello Nadège, it’s (………)
Just wanted to tell you that I managed to sleep over at my grandparents’ house. I think things are getting much better, and honestly, I’m really feeling better now.
It’s thanks to you, so thank you so much.
Have a lovely evening.
Parent’s Message
Teen Anxiety
Good evening Mrs Augereau,
I wanted to follow up after last Thursday’s appointment.
After the session, (………) was very tired. He yawned a lot and spent the rest of the morning resting on the sofa.
He told us he was happy with the session and found it really impressive when you asked him to think about something and somehow knew what he was thinking about.
He seems to be feeling better and is taking a little more initiative.

Anxiety & Mental Overload
Hi Nadège,
I wanted to message you because there have been some changes since the last session, and I can really feel them.
I feel like I’m on the right path now, and I’m no longer questioning everything the way I used to.
I accept things much more easily, and I no longer feel the need to constantly “understand” everything.

Frequently Asked Questions from Concerned Parents
My teenager refuses to talk. Can it still work?
Yes. My approach does not require your teenager to verbalise everything.
The work is done at a deeper level, at their own pace, with no pressure or obligation to talk.
How many sessions are usually needed?
The number of sessions depends on the teenager, the emotional difficulties involved, and how long the situation has been present.
Some teenagers feel calmer and lighter after the first session, while others benefit from longer-term support to create lasting change.
Do we need medical approval before starting?
No medical approval is required to begin sessions.
However, this support is designed to complement medical or psychological care, never replace it.
Do you work with teenagers who have already seen a psychologist?
Yes, very often.
Many teenagers I support already have psychological or medical follow-up. My approach works alongside other professional support and focuses on emotional regulation, stress relief, confidence, and nervous system calming.
What happens after each session?
Parents receive a general feedback update after the session while fully respecting the teenager’s confidentiality and emotional safety.
How can I encourage my teenager to try a session?
The best approach is usually not to force them.
Teenagers respond better when they feel heard, respected, and free to experience the session at their own pace. The discovery call often helps reassure both parents and teenagers before starting.
